The Hope Diamond at the Smithsonian

This is a good example of how size can be misinterpreted.  This is the Hope Diamond on display at the Smithsonian Natural History Museum in Washington D.C. and it is much smaller than it looks in this photo!  We had to claw our way through dozens of people just to get a look at it!  Very similar to the experience when you go to the Louvre in Paris and see the Mona Lisa…through bullet proof glass and 18 ft of empty space.  Taken with an ISO 160, f/4.3, and a shutter speed of 1/90th of a second.
